Knowing you'd had brother for almost twenty years was very different from actually having a brother, and Aura did her best to remain calm. "I always knew I didn't belong," she said truthfully, because she didn't belong. "But they love me, and I love them, despite the fact that we'll never understand each other," she said about her family. She looked up at him when he pulled back, and her smile turned slightly smirk-tinged. "You aren't going to expect me to be cheerful, are you?" she asked, even though she suspected he would do nothing of the sort. "Or sing Christmas Carols or Happy Birthday?"
She raised her hand to his cheek then, just to see how much time he had left, and she let her fingers rest against his cheek after. "That only happens in the Twilight Zone, Casper," she said fondly. Honestly, she thought she might even forgive him being cheerful himself, she liked him that much. "I won't lie." A pause. "Ever."
