She watched him out of the corner of her eye as he silently acclimated himself to what she'd just said, and when he glared at the gallery owner, she couldn't help but laugh; a happy sound. She, of course, immediately replaced it with appropriate soberness, and her fingers touched the corner of the painting again, fingertips tracing the oils.
"I could just be trying to rob you blind," she said, but her tone said she was doing nothing of the sort. "You need minding," she added. When he asked if she had a minute, she looked at him (though doing so made her nervous and made butterflies flap their wings madly in her stomach). "I have five minutes. Do you have a stopwatch?" Then. "Do you prefer Simon or Casper?"
