Second day of exhibit, soon after the gallery opens for the day
Since Moana had seen the forum post asking who planned on going to see Simon's exhibit, even if she hadn't responded to it, she'd decided that the opening day would probably be too crowded for her tastes. It wasn't that she didn't want to meet her new neighbors. She would prefer to be on friendly enough terms with them that they wouldn't comment on some of her more high profile visitors, at least, and so that next time she had something large to transport in she might not have to waste her money on hiring someone to do it. It was simply that she preferred to do it one at a time, instead of throwing herself into what she'd observed to be a very high-energy group.
The second day, though, she'd assumed would be fairly open. Most people either attended on the first day of an event, to show a strong initial support, or were lazy and put it off until the last day. Some strange individuals preferred to show up right at the midpoint, and some forced themselves to go the next to last day so that it wouldn't be as obvious that they put it off until the last possible minute, but the second day? For the most part, it was reserved for those who wandered in randomly or who didn't have any other day off work. It should be the sort of quiet crowd that Moana would much rather be a part of.
As with everything she did, Moana had dressed in a carefully appropriate way - a white sun dress, white sandal flats, and her hair pinned up so that just a few curls fell onto her face. She still looked a little too put-together, a little too much like it was all an elaborate costume, but she at least had on the correct sort of clothes for the occasion. Was her obsession with it vain? Maybe, but in her line of work it was a necessity.
She breezed into the gallery as unobtrusively as she was capable of, ignoring the relatively small crowd; she'd picked her time well, people were just beginning to trickle in off the street. Since a quick glance around didn't locate Simon, she started drifting around the room, viewing the different pieces as she waited for him to reveal himself. There were a few pieces, both landscapes and abstract, that she could easily see on her wall, but the idea of having something created just for her appealed very much to her greedier side.
