At his teasing tone, her hand stilled against his chest in its vague attempt to check for injury and she met his eyes again. For an instant, she lost herself in wonder at how very dark they were. Almost as quickly, though, Kami regained control of herself and her smile glowed with more mischief than innocence. "I could," she drawled and she dared to walk her fingers along his collar bone before drawing her hand back to tuck a soft curl behind her ear.
