It seemed for the moment Mirza's intervention had done far more harm than good; Navid hoped Zara's mobile had not been damaged in the ensuing rush of collected water. He was grateful for the redirection of the water, its somewhat subdued spray allowing him a moment to think. He moved quickly now, picking his way through the rising pools of water as best he could. Reaching down, Navid scooped up the gathered materials and trudging back to his compatriots, all of them now utterly soaked. He passed the items to Rick, not releasing them until he was sure the other man had a steady grip in spite of their slick hands.
"You should move," he said, looking down to Mirza. "If you pull him off his feet and he falls on you, you'll probably be the one to get hurt."
He glanced back to Zara, throwing her an apologetic look. Navid knew well the obligations she was now missing due to this freak accident, and it seemed now there was no chance of her meeting them. The thought only further exacerbated his growing frustration. "Are you all right, Zara?"
