For Zara's part, her tank top was already soaked through, and the tops of her jeans were quickly getting there as well. The unbearable heat of the past few days didn't call for a jacket, especially when she'd be working outside, but she found herself regretting that decision as she tried to cross her arms as she held the phone to her ear. When the newcomer arrived, she offered him a little smile and a small wave as she waited for someone in maintenance to pick up. Absently, she bit the inside of her cheek as she watched Navid and Rick try to work with the water streaming in their faces, and subsequently, though to a slightly lesser extent, her and their newly met neighbor.
She held her own hand up to her eyes, and then, the water seemed to slow down - almost to change direction so it wasn't hitting them head on. Before Zara could pay it much mind, she turned away from the spray and bent over Navid's coat, shielding it with her body as someone from maintenance picked up.
"Hi, Nate," she said amiably, "I'm Zarina Macey, in D1, and I'm here with a few of the other tenants in stairwell two, and it seems like a pipe burst. Oh, I think around the third floor -" Zara looked up the stairwell and back down, then said, "yes, between the third and fourth floors."
As she spoke, the flow of the water slowed to nearly a trickle; she cast a glance up at Navid and the hardware he'd found. "Oh - has someone already - no?" Her brow furrowed. "OK. Sure. Thanks, Nate." With that, she wiped her phone off on a patch of dry pant leg, then slid it into the inside of Navid's jacket. Neither of them was going anywhere before a trip back up to the apartment to change anyway.
"Maintenance says they'll send somebody as soon as they can, but apparently there've been things happening all over the place today, starting with the elevator," she said, still puzzling over the tools there.
