Ares/Raven/Maui/Coyote - by the pool table, 10 p.m.
A leaden weight had appeared in Daniel's gut the moment their host appeared. It did not ease at his words, or at the sight of the sack, and when BB's small shape tumbled out of it, that weight turned into a cramp twisting his guts. But before he could go to her a shock passed through his body, and immediately he fell to his knees. In that second, with that jolt, Daniel was thrust into the background, and Ares opened his black, flashing eyes.
He rose from the floor, his armor shaping itself around him. Their host was gone, fled past the rattling gashadokuro and into the courtyard beyond. Ares only had eyes for his sister, unconscious and stained, disconcertingly, with only her own blood. His jaw tightened. He looked to Maui at his side, recognizing him at once, and knowing him for the great help he could be. Though a menagerie of strange creatures closed in around them, he would not outright ask for help, but the look on his face said enough. Then he started off toward the pool table, crossing the room in long, hurried strides.
Raven swept after him, her wings beating the air with all the frustration her now-imprisoned vessel felt. She reached the pool table long before Ares, but could do nothing once there. Her clawed feet dug into the felt of the table, gouging deep marks as she croaked angrily at the smallest of their exotic attackers. The little tipua continued to fling food in their direction—in everyone's direction, really, though Raven did not concern herself with such details—and so she took off again, hooking one beast in her claws and pulling it untidily apart.
