She was grinning at him, guiltily enjoying the buzz from her accidental alcohol consumption, and enjoying his reaction to her pirate comment, and very much looking forward to a later plundering, when he just had to stick a pin in that balloon. Almost immediately her smile faded, and though she didn’t pull away from him, her posture changed as disappointment robbed her of happiness. “Ohh. Right,” she said, no longer able to temper her reaction with logical thoughts like ‘of course he has to work, it’s the middle of the week, and you have to work tomorrow too.’ It didn’t matter that they were both responsible adults with jobs, drunk brain wanted what it wanted, and logic didn’t live there anymore.
