Honey felt like a crazy person. Losing control like this in public was something she didn’t do but here she was…sobbing like a widow. She almost felt like one. And that was different. Brighid couldn’t possibly understand her past. How she’d always been discerning when it came to Xander’s indiscretions.

“I…” She said, shrinking away from the girl and her tenderness like a wounded animal. “I don’t cry in public.” She was doing a horrible job of presenting her case. She had to take in a sniffle and fidget with her trench coat before she could even begin to address the terrible circumstance of being trapped with someone prying. “ but thank you.”

There it was, the straightening of her spine, a few more sniffles and a slight ascension of her proud chin, “Did you just ever have one of those days?”
