Usually, the voice in Brighid's head echoed her father. Today, it was an eerie mix of that man's sage advice and Samuel's sardonic wit: Brighid, lass, you've gotten yourself stuck in the lift with a crazy woman. Don't make any sudden moves and try not to upset her and you might get out alive. Clearly, the woman was already upset, so now Brighid had to figure out if she could somehow help calm her, because who knew how long they might be trapped in this metal box. Shaking her head of that thought, the younger girl took another deep breath.
"Everyone needs a good cry now and again, or so my mum tells me," she said gently. "There's no harm in that a'tall. Em," after a beat, Brighid moved a slight bit closer to her companion. "Maybe it's an odd place for it, but is there anythin' I can do to help?"
