At Pax Letale, an awakening has begun. As these gods rediscover themselves and each other, the seemingly invisible but ubiquitous management tracks each of them quite closely, and the very building itself seems to have an agenda of its own. And as the gods made humans in their own image - or humans made them in theirs - so will the the behavior of the people of Pax turn as dark as their deities. Blood, strife, sex, petty plots, torture - even murder will wind their ways into Pax Letale.

Notes: Rusalki are the ghosts of young women who generally have died by violent/unpleasant means, often suicide, often drowning, associated with the “unclean force.” According to Zelenin, people who die violently and before their time, such as young women who commit suicide because they have been jilted by their lovers, or unmarried women who are pregnant, must live out their designated time on earth as a spirit. They appear in the middle of the night as beautiful young women, usually in the water or close to it, mesmerizing men with their alluring appearance and pleas for help, luring them into the water to drown them.

Notes: In Aztec mythology, the Civatateo are noblewomen who died during childbirth and, after returning to the land of the living, stalk travelers and haunted temples. Civatateos are servants of the Aztec moon deities Tezcatlipoca and Tlazolteotl. They can be prevented from attacking the living by placing food on shrines built at the crossroads. Their favorite offering is a cake in the shape of a butterfly.
