"I've always wondered if one loses a sense of time when they pass on. I mean, here it's all about time and money and not having enough of either. There, you've got all the time in the world. But, I do suppose it would get pretty boring."
Linnaea smiled softly and leaned into Pierce's hand as he patted her cheek, though as he kissed the top of her head, the tears welled up once more and she looked away, trying to not be so obvious. Trying to be brave. "Oh, Pierce. I'm so sorry. Just..." She paused, wiping away her stinging tears with the backs of her fingers. "You've been so good to me, even when you didn't need to and had no reason to. I sometimes forget little things like this and how much they mean."
Naea looked up at her friend, then hugged him fiercely. For a small woman, she definitely had a grip. She pulled away after a moment and smiled up at him. "C'mon. I think I could do with a little more brandy and one of your stories. Tell me about your life before Billy and being CEO of the world."
