Max smirked at the water. “Would you file down your teeth? That sounds like it would hurt,” she confessed, though she’d never been a stranger to pain. But there was something about tooth pain that was far worse than regular cuts and bruises from a good brawl that she couldn’t stand to think about. “Nahh, I was told by the doctor who lives here that they’re healthy, so I don’t really want to mess with that,” she said with a shrug. But then a grin broke out on her face, showing off her new teeth nicely.
“I love steak,” she almost purred. “Is that your subtle way of asking me to dinner?” she asked with a mischievous glint in her eye.
