Chris' head bobbed, as though her confirmation was both what he was looking for and yet not.
"My friend Kal," he pointed across the pool to where the large man was still seated with Daniel, clearly wrapped up in some conversation that Chris couldn't deny he was curious about. "He told me about your shop. Since we both live here, and this is one of those social events, I figured I should at least say hi. You know, not be a creep who knows someone but who the someone doesn't know..." He reached up, flicking his forehead as though he suddenly realized he hadn't introduced himself.
"Ah, sorry, I'm Chris," he finally offered, switching his plate to the left and extending his right to shake hers, if she was open to that kind of thing. "I'm on the third floor, same as Kal and, now that I think about it, a lot of people. More than any other floor in our sparsely filled building." He cracked a wider smile, hoping this was setting her at ease.
