She grabbed his hand, stopping, dropping it for a moment as she remembered to cap the glitter pen, and slid it into her waistband before grabbing his hand again and beginning to drag him off into the crowd and down the street she'd described.
"Some places tend to stick to you," she commented on the idea of Texans suddenly encroaching on California. It wasn't that long ago that Alice had suddenly decided to follow her to L.A., and then Gus. Before she knew it, her other sibling might join in, and then what was the point of moving away. She grinned over her shoulder at him. "It can't be all that bad. I've never been to Texas, though, and, I gotta say, that place does not have a nice reputation."
Together, hand in hand, they moved through the crowd, around a corner and down a street toward Fountain in the distance.
