"You, me, anybody that needs a little sparkle in their life. Should be enough left over for a couple glitter bombs." The mischief that turned his last sentence into a sing-song birthed also an impish grin that split his face wide enough to force his eyes closed. He kept them thus even after the flash smile faded, only opening them when she silently (for once) urged his chin up.
Fighting the urge to sneeze as he stared up at the picturesque sky, his first response was a shrug. "I'unno. One person said they might come with a friend, and someone else said he'd bring his Texas boyfriend. And what is with all the Texans lately, anyway? I did not escape Laredo as a child just for it to follo--What?!" His chin jerked down when she gasped, posture going from relaxed to tense in a second. "Oh fuck we did forget," he breathed, patting at his pockets as though somehow posterboard and markers would appear. "Crap. Um. Let's go up Fountain like you said, and we'll see if we can spot a shop or something on the way. Sound good?"
He punctuated the question by holding a hand out to her.
