Who: Eli and Honey
What: Howdoyado
Where: Eli's apartment in the 9's
When: Early evening, 6ish
Warnings: Cute

Going down a floor was hardly trouble, especially for family. A realization that made Honey Skye skip a jiff as she moved toward Eli's new apartment.

The way she rememberd him, Eli had been so sweet.

Not that she knew him very well. He'd been been barely a teenager when they first met and that had been during an away trip with Xander to visit his family for Thanksgiving. That weekend had been punctuated in her memory fondly as one of those moments she knew how much in love Xander was with her - bringing her along for a family weekend? Sneaking out at night. Kissing when no one was looking. Eating Turkey sandwiches after they'd [Xander and her] fucked like only two teenagers can. It has been wonderful.

So it was with a happy heart that she knocked upon his door, hammer in hand and a bright smile on her face.

He laughed a little, nodding in confirmation - though he ducked his chin so as to attempt to hide the redness still present in his face. Eli should just go ahead and self-identify as 'crimson' instead of a white boy. "It's right here," he noted, and just behind the piece of art Honey was picking up was indeed a framed map of the universe. But he would get to that later. Right now he helped her slide the Celestial Planisphere from its hiding place, and then he rummaged for nails...you know, to do the hanging. Safely.

"I'll hold the nail in place and you can hammer?" he offered, dragging the art toward a blank space of living room wall. "And yeah, I'm into celestial bodies. What else are you into, besides, flaky crust?"

"That's why I brought it." She told him. She waited for him to figure out where to put the nail and when he had it pointed for the hammering of its life she finally answered his question.

"I really would like to start practicing again. Maybe even start up my own practice." Did he even know what she did? "I'm a lawyer." But she needed to help Xander with his campaign, as a dutiful wife should and she wasn't sure getting back to full time would be prudent during what was sure to be a whirlwind year. “We’ll see….” She was rambling.

"So...most people hate to talk about law. The Universe seems much more exciting. You want to be an astronomer?" When he was ready she gave the nail, two direct hits on the head. It slid into the drywall with no trouble at all.

Of course Eli knew who what Honey did! Her and Xander were a very successful couple, though Eli still wasn't sure what exactly Xander did but he inherited money so that was cool. Definitely something not happening for Eli when his dad kicked off. They had lived comfortably but it wasn't anything that would enable him to buy sold gold toilet seats.

"If you want to, you should," he said once the nail had been sufficiently hammered. "Why not?"

He shrugged and lifted the first piece of art, steadying it onto the freshly banged nail. "Someday I would like to. Maybe teach astronomy in college, but that's really far down the road."

Maybe Xander and he had talked but she wouldn't presume to think it would be about what she was up to. Honey would have loved to know that she had been brought up on occasion when they were a country apart.

A silent shrug was all the input she gave him regarding her plans to practice law soon. She was not lacking in ambition. Someday but maybe not too soon.

"I know nothing about Astronomy...well hardly." She corrected herself, "I know a few constellations. I Think I can determine Venus when I see it." She fluttered her lashed at him as thoughts , "We should make a night of it sometime."

Maybe she let a moment too long pass before she expanded her idea, "Xander and I have a great deck. We could have a dinner picnic and you could teach us a thing or two."

Make a night of it? He almost stepped on a bed of nails, literally. Oops. Biting his lip to hold back a snicker, he bent down to retrieve another to bang into the wall. Time for the Universe to be hung! She was making him laugh and blush like an idiot at the same time. A very talented woman, that Honey Skye.

"Orion is easy to see too, that one's my favorite. Teach you a thing or two? Really?" Eli sounded thrilled about the invitation, so pleased as the second nail was hammered with reckless abandon. "That sounds fun. I promise not to make it too boring for you guys." And he wanted to spend time with Xander too; he knew that losing his dad was tough. Eli had gone to the funeral, of course.

"You can teach me about law too," he added with a smile. "Oh, when's your birthday? I'll remember for good after this." A random question, perhaps, but he was a zodiac sign guru.

"Xander would love to see you and now that there is family in the building we are determined to make the most of it! It won't be boring at all." Honey was as excited as he. She imagined all sorts of dinner parties and holidays. It would be fun!

Standing back she surveyed his artwork. Not really her thing...but then she wasn't an astronomy nut. Also, with her prefectionist nature she wanted to make sure it was at just the right height. It seemed Eli had a good eye. Good thing! He'd need at least one to peer into his telescope.

Oh! It was time to get to work. His fingers out of the way she began banging away on the second nail. "My Birthday? April 3rd." She didn't mention the year because that wasn't very lady like.

Eli knew his apartment would end up being a little on the dorkish side, but he didn't plan on having to entertain many guests so as long as he liked it, he figured that was what mattered. His bedroom would no doubt be covered with 29,939 astronomy-related posters and charts as well.

So therefore he was pleased, and he looked over at Honey when she revealed her date of birth. Year wasn't necessary. "Since we were talking about celestial bodies and all...you're an Aries," he began. "You're a 'doer' - " Heh heh, pause for inner snickering, "...rather than just a talker. Dynamic and aggressive. Independent and assertive, which is why any partner has to man up otherwise you'll intimidate them. But still, you have a talent at knowing the difference between what you can change, and what you can't...and some inner softness and patience to go along with that."

He paused, feeling guilty for rambling. "But I guess we can go get coffee now if you want?"

"Oh yes....an Aries." She knew that but she hadn't really consulted the star charts. Honey wasn't one that put that much stock in superstition. Although his assessment of her personality seemed pretty dead on.

"Ok. Let's go." Honey set down the hammer. She could get it later and she didn't want to have to go up a floor to her apartment to leave it. Pie was calling her name. She had enough cash to treat him in the pocket of her dress which she patter before turning to him.

"What is your celestial calling card?" she asked him, stepping over to the door.

"Me? Oh, I'm a Pisces," Eli replied. "The ruling planet is Neptune," he said as he opened the door for Honey - he was polite! And had been taught manners, of course. "So basically, we're sort of the lost souls, and we want to feel connected to the world and other people. We're compassionate and kind and intuitive, but prone to escapism."

He stuck his hands in his pockets as they went on down the hallway. "I don't know why I like the zodiac signs so much. They're all just really interesting to me. Stairs or elevator down?"

"Elevator." She said lazily. Nine flights was an eternity when pie was waiting at the diner.

"So you feel lonely?" She didn't understand it really. "Well, we're going to get pie...don't TRY to escape." She pressed the button down. Luckily it gave a ding and opened wide for them.

He nodded, stepping into the elevator. The horror stories seemed to be unfounded for him so far, which was fine. "Sometimes I am," Eli admitted. Although sometimes was more like 'all the time.' "But I'm hoping to change that. Moving out will help with it, I think."

There were no stops on the way so they emerged into the lobby when the doors opened for them. "If there's pie, there will be no escaping," he promised with a smile. "What's your favorite kind?"

"It does take effort to have friends." Honey said, not wanting to burst any bubble but it wasn't something one could just wish for. "I think you'll do just great.' How was that for support?

For a moment, when the door opened she imagined the elevator stopping and they becoming trapped for hours while the firemen thought of ways to rescue them. Maybe that would have been more interesting than pie but not as delicious.

"Cherry." She said without hesitation. "It takes someone special to make a cherry pie something special. What about you? Most men like blueberry. I don't know why."

"Wise words, Honey Skye," Eli chuckled as they emerged into the lobby. he went ahead to get the front door for her, holding it like a true gentleman. And because she was all prettied up in a dress and heels and thus deserved five-star treatment, even from a peon like him. "How do you make cherry pie special?" Did she put crack in it? "My favorite's actually Dutch apple, so I'll break the stereotype for you."

"Well look at you." Honey Skye purred, lacing her arm with his, after they'd moved out from inside and entered into the great wide world. "So full of surprises."

"The same way Mozart makes music devine. Just the right blend of marvelous and wonderful. You'll see." She told him, squeezing his arm fondly.

"By the way. What's the difference between dutch apple and just apple?" She looked over at him with a question in her eyes.

He blushed, of course, as if Eli would ever do anything different when given attention from a Highly Attractive Women, especially this one. "The right blend of marvelous and wonderful? I believe you," he grinned. Oh yes, because Honey could do anything - she could hammer something perfectly and churn out a fantastic cherry pie all in the same day!

"I think the difference is the crust and the topping. Dutch apple has those crumbly things on top," he explained importantly. "That's why I like it better than regular apple." He also liked pumpkin pie too. And strawberry rhubarb. Really, any kind of pie was fine in Eli's book.

Mayeb Eli was thinking what a blushing good time he was having but Honey thought she was being boring. Which was something Honey hated to admit feeling. I mean come ON...pie? COFFEE? She might as well be some soccer mom bullshitter in a minivan.

But she really wanted the pie. She really, really wanted it. Maybe even two wedges to satiate her implorable craving.

"Oh? The toppings." She said, as if he was telling her about the most interesting topic in the world. Seriously! She didn't know. Dutch apple pie might as well have been greek pie for all she knew.

"Sorry I am so pie eyes." She giggled, "Pardon my pun. But, since I got here all I've wanted to do is eat and fuck around." There was no apology there. He was an adult now and she was tired of being so prissy ALL the time. She needed a freind who she could swear with and be something other than Zeus's charming arm candy. "I've turned into a bum."

"Eat and fuck around?" Eli repeated, laughing a little. He may be virginal and sweet but words were just that, words, and he probably had a bit of a potty mouth when the situation called for it. "Nothing wrong with that," he said cheerfully. "I'm always up for both. Um!" Did that sound awkward? He hoped not. "Well, you know what I mean. We should do something totally random. Like...skydiving." He had never been but throwing yourself out a plane was sure to be fun, right?

"No. Why would it sound awkward?" She asked him, still clinging to his arm like a granny on a botscout- expect with much better legs.

"Skydiving?" She said, thinking about it but then crumpling up her features a little insecurely. "You think I could pull off skydiving?" Not that she expected an answer. She knew she could.

"Have you ever GONE skydiving before?"
