Pierce slid the Blackberry from its holster and checked the time. "I'm in no rush, my dear," he said honestly. "I own the company, I can go back when I want." This was said with a smile, all in good fun, though it was true. Alex had been pestering him to take it easy with work for awhile now, so a lunch that lasted longer than fifteen minutes wouldn't kill him.
But he asked for a to-go box when the waiter came back, and also the check, which Pierce paid with a flick of his wrist as he signed the credit card slip. "It was nice of you to meet me in public! We'll have to meet again for sure, especially since we're neighbors now."
