Naea was just pulling her other shoe on when she heard who she assumed to be Pierce knock at the door. She hopped to the door while tugging on the Converse (she hated tying an untying shoes; so she generally left them tied enough to slip a foot in and out fairly easily), unlocked and opened it with a pretty smile. "Hi, Pierce. It's nice to see you! C'mon in... Just need to grab my purse." Which was all the way in the bedroom.
It occasionally intrigued her just how well she and Pierce got along. It would take an ignorant person to see just how different he and David were, and yet there were similarities. Mostly familial--a facial expression here or there. But the one that stood out the most was the stubbornness, tenacity and charm. She and Pierce had been speaking strictly on the phone for about a year, once a month or so. It was only after she baked him a cake that she got to meet him for the first time in person. And he had been just as charming in person as he had been on the line.
Perhaps Naea felt a teensy bit bad for building a friendship with David's estranged brother, but he'd never been anything but kind to her and had only been checking on his brother when they began talking. The rest had just come along with it.
"Busy day today?" Linnaea called from the bedroom before strolling out with a purse slung over her shoulder.
