Alice looked at Rafael with the type of look she reserved for puppies or the dirty chai cupcake from Baked and Wired from back home. She accepted the new drink after finishing off the other one and turned, feeling a little wobbly on her feet, but vastly more at ease.
"The bakery is okay," she admitted with a small hiccup, opting to go with the change of topic, much to the relief of the small sober voice that remained deep down inside her. "I left it alone today and tomorrow. Well, not alone. The other baker I hired is running it but I've never left it alone before and I'm sort of worried it'll catch fire or get robbed or something." She hiccuped again and frowned at her drink.
"You would think that being Irish would make me better at this holiday."
