Max’s eyebrows rose a little at the mention of the Deluxe suites, nodding in approval, but noticed Isobel’s reluctance to say it. “Hey, don’t be shy, if you can afford it, that’s great,” she said with a little grin, lightly bumping her arm with hers. “Don’t apologise for good things, own it,” she said, pulling out a little of her instructor voice.
She ate another piece of the delicious kabab and considered what to tell her about her ‘day’ job. “I…I’m basically a bodyguard,” she said with a shrug. “I get paid to hang out with celebrities and make sure they don’t get mauled by their ‘fans’,” she elaborated, tearing a piece of meat in half and chewing it thoughtfully. “The hours suck sometimes, but the stars aligned that I should have tonight off, so here I am.”
