Re: 7:30 p.m., by the jukebox - alice
Alice crossed her arms over her chest and looked wearily around the bar. This was definitely well out of her element in this time of her life. She had a spark of rebellion and silly antics in college, finding herself at bars and clubs, enjoying burlesque shows and drag queens singing loudly, but then she graduated and went into a more quiet life. A life that was surrounded by measuring cups and the scent of dough, something that was manageable and pleasant. But Britt had shown a particular desire for Alice to come out tonight and knowing she had avoided activities where she had to interact with strangers for the most part since she moved in, she knew she owed her best friend the outing.
So she planned for the bakery to be taken care of by the other staff members and baked an assortment of goodies ahead of time. It was the first two day streak where Alice was away from the bakery and that honestly made her uneasy. Between that and the awkwardness of being surrounded by strangers, Alice was feeling nervous and shy.
"I think the music is kind of fitting," Alice replied, her voice nearly being drowned out by the music. She reached for a gummy shamrock and stuffed it into her mouth. "So, how long does this thing go for?"
