Count to ten. Take a breath. In with the good air, out with the bad. More deep breaths. Ah, the joys of parenting - or quasi parenting, in this case. Why was David such a deadbeat?! Why, oh, why was this happening now...
He didn't bother to tell Olivia that, no, finding the father would just make things worse right now. Eventually, it would be possible - but Simon was much too angry and he needed to be mature enough to handle that meeting. Getting sent to jail for lashing out at David and fucking him up wouldn't help matters. All of this was conveyed with a shake of his head. Pierce wasn't going to bring up David right now, in any capacity.
And now the kid was growling. He was roaring - this wasn't normal. A shiver went down Pierce's spine, he couldn't help it, and he was tempted to just leave Simon here. But no. He was hurting and he was family, even if nobody knew it but him.
"Simon." He pressed his fingers into his eyes. "Please just let us take you home. Then we'll leave you alone."
