He gave a sidelong glance towards Aura, gaze narrowing slightly as she settled on the bed near him, providing no fight as she took his hand in her own. "I thought I was destroying the thing I saw in the mirror. It..." Simon paused, glancing towards Pierce, and then back towards the girl. "It surprised me." Lips were pursed tightly together and he exhaled, closing his eyes as she introduced him as an idiot, resisting the urge to growl and smack that smile off her face.
Simon did well though, keeping his temper about him as he looked back towards Pierce, that small smile he wore, and he had to wonder what the hell was there to smile about right now? But he kept that thought quiet, instead gently pulling his hand away from Aura, settling it back across his chest. "Same. It's not the first time. Also not always inanimate things get it." A pause, a handful of heartbeats filling the space in the conversation. "Who knows. Maybe you're our father. They do say, like father, like son." He was joking... entirely so, the only bit of 'humour' he could interject into the conversation at that point.
