Google did solve everything, usually, but she wasn’t convinced it would solve this. She was pretty sure this would end up like all the times she’d log symptoms on WebMD. All the information she had and it would spit back something she was sure was wrong. A headache and tennis elbow didn’t mean she should take a pregnancy test. Having ocean god reflections wasn’t going to point them in any sane direction.
But she followed regardless, making sure to keep the door cracked open behind her this time. Anyone passing by would see they were in there but they wouldn’t be able to see what they were looking at, or hear what they were talking about until they stepped closer and in plain sight. “You,” she answered easily. “But I’m not sure. Maybe you should sit around wearing nothing but blankets.” That was definitely said in a lower voice, making it lose it’s teasing edge and sound a bit more like a challenge.
She cast a glance as he pulled out the mirror. There was the bearded reflection again and she looked back at the computer screen and the image that it brought up. “Holy shit,” she breathed again, this time the amusement was much clearer than before. She wasn’t sure what it meant, but it was something of an answer. “Can I say right now that I like you without the beard?” The blanket could stay. The beard had to go.
