After arguing with the bouncer at the door about whether or not her driver's license was legit, Naea finally managed to get through the door with that nifty day-glo green wristband that screamed just how not 21 she was. And anyway, if she really wanted to drink that much, she would have asked David to pick up some wine for dinner.
She'd told David she would be checking out the place for shits and giggles and extended the offer for him to come on down if he felt inclined to do so. Naea wanted the break from the apartment, from school, from work. A change in scenery from the same twelve walls. And what a change it was. Industrial, steam punk, alternakid... pick your flavor, it was here. She began to wonder if she shouldn't have dug out her old Halloween costume when she went as a porcelain doll. The rose pink and white thigh highs would have blended in far better than her black tank with the Rolling Stones logo outlined in red glitter on the front and a pair of flared blue jeans. At least she chose wisely in her footwear of black and white lo-top Converse.
Naea sidled up to the bar and ordered a Coke. While she waited, she looked around the growing crowd and sought out anyone she knew--specifically Adam, who'd brought it up once they figured out they lived in the same building. To some extent, she felt guilty for going on ahead without David. It seemed lately like they never really had a chance to go out to do something--just the two of them. Maybe once they got a little more settled...
