"That doesn't change my thoughts about you." The words were simply stated, without pomp or circumstance, fingers toying with that stray lock of hair for a long moment, studying it, its texture, until Mo's voice drew her from her thoughts.
"Upstairs?" she echoed, confused by the question, but eventually she managed to piece it together, hand falling away and instead clasping with its mate behind her back. "Mmhmm. Mum bought me a place up on the tenth floor. I'm not sure why, but it's quite nice and the view is spectacular! You should come up sometime. Come look at the stars with me. The moon's going to be full soon, so you should come up. We can go out onto the balcony and find the pictures in the stars again!" Emma giggled, reaching down to take one of Mo's hands in her own, twining fingers with her, as excited as a child on Christmas morning.
"Do you remember doing that with me? Staying up all night and finding the pictures in the stars? Telling stories and..."
She trailed off, biting her lip for a moment, her gaze growing far away. "...that was nice. I liked that a lot."
