Re: Kate - 7:05pm - Lounge - Percy
He was no stranger to parties; when the invitation to the mixer had arrived--so to speak, Percy had jumped at the opportunity to mingle among his fellow Pax Letale tenants. He hadn't, after all, met too many of them. Perhaps it was due to his habit of not necessarily being home quite enough, rather than the majority of his neighbors being the introverted sort--and surely that wasn't possible in a place like Newport Beach.
And so he'd arrived on time, having thrown on a trusted khaki sport jacket before leaving, pairing it with a white button down shirt and a favorite pair of blue jeans. If his burnished brown oxfords had wings attached to them, he might have arrived even earlier. As it was, Percy strolled through the front door of Casket, taking in the sights and kitchy atmosphere. A little bit of cliche love never hurt anyone, did it? Nor did a classic jack and coke, which he promptly ordered from the bar, peering around the room while he waited for the bartender to finish making his drink.
Decorations, check. Free food (the best kind), check. The crowd still arriving for the evening, check. A self-contained, modestly dressed woman sitting by herself on one of several comfortable-looking couches, check. Percy smiled to himself, tipping the bartender before he snatched up his drink and made a direct beeline over to his yet unknown neighbor, his steps leisurely, as if he had all the time in the world.
"They say that love lifts us up where we belong, but how high is that, exactly? I've never figured it out myself." He shook his head in affected disbelief and swirled the ice in his glass, before shooting a smile at the woman. Percy nodded towards an empty spot an amicable distance from her. "Mind if I sit? My name's Percy."
