Notes: Welcome to our first event thread! This is an open thread that anyone can join in; individual threads are welcome. Everything was set up just so in the Pax Letale apartment complex rec room. Styled perfectly to management's wishes, a plethora of finger food and snacks were available on a table pressed against the far wall; this, of course, was on the opposite side of the room from the entrance, forcing newcomers to actually enter the space if they wanted to graze.

The east wall opened up to the complex's pool area, though the doors were closed on this chilly February night. Lights in the pool itself cast a cool, blue-ish glow over the outdoor plants and furniture, which were still damp from a recent smattering of rain. Back within, instrumental music sought to set a calm environment among the apartment complex's newest residents, inspiring them to mingle and meet as they tried to find out where they fit in the complex's hierarchy.

Plush pillows welcomed tired travelers, a pool table waited for someone to pick up a cue and play, and a small table with a punch bowl was on offer for anyone who needed something to put in their hands.

Right at 6 p.m. sharp, the room was empty, though a few people had begun to trickle in, lured by the promise of free food. Stephan, the ever-vigilant complex concierge, looked up from his copy of Home and Gardens to peer enviously over square reading glasses at the party-goers, only slightly upset that he was chained to his desk and his responsibilities to assuage any questions or issues that arose.
