It is too noisy. Who is laughing? And who is leaving things? Please stop leaving things out. the hearth, though, is nice. It's just too loud

What if they have small amounts of poison in them that builds up slowly the more you eat them? You can't trust food that just appears out of nowhere with no explanation or vacuum seal.

I've got an iron stomach, don't worry.

In addition, I used to be a boy scout. I know these olives are fine. :]

That's not what stomachs are made of. I think you're being too trusting of food that shouldn't be there.

I wasn't being literal

The olives might go to waste otherwise, and that'd be a crying shame.

Not if they go back where they are supposed to be.

I could try to reattach them to their former home, but I think the tree branches and the olives have--how do I say this?--parted their ways. The bark was too strong for the olives, and they had to make their leaf.

The tree needs to go, it needs to be outside it does not belong here. This is not its home. They can't get what they need here, we need to remove them. You can take them outside.

I'll put on my best plaid shirt and try to grow a better beard. You'll have to forgive me, I don't have a pet ox.

...although, until we can get outside again, where do you suppose I should take the trees? They can't be uprooted, they'll perish. Think of the ungarnished pizzas.

Oxen don't belong in apartment buildings.

Why can't we get outside now?

...Esther, that's not what I meant at all and

I can't pick the locks. Must be a defective lock pick. Maybe you cleaned it too much.

Just open the door, why won't you just push it?

I might have tried that already several times. Picking the lock was my next best idea, and not to give you the wrong impression, but I'm usually pretty good at that sort of thing.

Not this time, though.

I haven't tried the fire exits yet. I think this is only temporary. I hope. I need more space than this.

But what if there is a fire or an emergency or I run out of flour and I can't bake cookies, someone might need cookies, and what if there's a gas leak, what do we do?

[info]polytropus

Okay, Esther. Here's the deal. I'll check all of the fire exits and see if they're locked, too. And I'll double check the locks on my windows. Everything will be fine.

There's nothing harmful on any of the floors I've seen. We're all in this together now, like it or not.

What if they really are poison olives and we're locked in so people will die and I have to work, I have to feed people. What if my mom comes? Do you have any peroxide?

[ there's a long pause between this reply and the last one, as Percy is composing his most tempered idea of patience, which involves a lot of wide-eyed staring at the ceiling. ]

Two bottles of it which you bought for me. What do you need it for? I've washed every olive three times, I promise.

In case you get sick or you get hurt. It can make you throw up if you eat something toxic. It isn't ideal but it works in a pinch.

I'll remember that, but I'll be fine. Besides, there's nothing that could hurt me on our floor. And there's free beer in those kegs, not to mention a decent hearth. We're likely better off than some of the other floors.

I hope so. Discovery ID shows that it is terrible to assume anything left out where it shouldn't be is safe for consumption. You can't get sick, what would Stella do

Armor doesn't breathe and I can't even begin to imagine the sort of bacteria that grows in that sort of environment. I prefer the gloves.

don't let me watch anymore Discovery ID until this is over.

I'm all right with gloves. Besides, think of the racket you'd make in a suit of armor. I need my beauty sleep.

Got it. I'm on the case; if your TV remote shows up missing, I won't tell you where I put it.
