New in 902
I was told about this online forum and that I should introduce myself to get to know everyone in the building. I'll be brief. My name is Iris and I just moved into apartment 902. I have degrees in animal science and a PhD biology, but what I really studied closely was reptiles. When I heard the Santa Ana Zoo wanted to build a reptile exhibit, I jumped at the chance, and have been working for over a year on the exhibit. Now that it's finally close to being finished and I have more normal hours, I figured I had time to move into an apartment. With me comes my Red Tailed Boa Constrictor (don't worry, she stays inside the apartment). This isn't her, but looks like her

Welcome to the building, Iris. I'm Juliet, in 802. Not only a floor below, but in the apartment right beneath you - so I wanted to ask, the lid on the snake's tank is quite firm, yes? I really don't need more reasons to have nightmares...

Thanks for the welcome. No worries, I promise her lid is on properly and she won't escape.

That's very reassuring, thank you. Should I apologize now if I wake you up? Maybe it's better to not mention it...

I promise you even though it's impossible for her to escape, she wouldn't know what to do if she DID get out of her enclosure, she's a big baby. At least she's not a dog that barks all day long. My apologies if you have a dog. Don't apologize, I sleep like the dead and won't hear you

I meant to post here days ago. Anyway, welcome! I think you're the first official move-in since I got here a couple of weeks ago. It's a pretty nice place. Watch out for the elevator and that turn onto 17th street and you should be fine. Have you heard about the big Halloween bash yet?

Oh, and I'm Richard from up in 507. Pleased to meet you!

I haven't heard about it yet, no.

Thanks for the welcome! I guess that lets you off the hook for being the new guy in the building huh? You're officially a veteran resident now.

Kind of hard to avid the elevator when you live on the 9th floor, so do me a favor and don't tell me any more details about it!

Seems there's a party at a place called Casket on the night before Halloween. Free drinks if you're in costume, and events all night.

It does! Hence the rush to share my hard won experience.

My lips are sealed. Just make sure you don't take it if you're urgently needed anywhere.

For free drinks I'm sure I can find a costume, thanks.

So Mister Veteran Resident, how about you show me around town some time? I'm new to Newport Beach itself. In other words, let's try to figure out this expensive town together.

You've said TOO MUCH!!

That was my response. Seems like a good way to end a weekend.

That sounds great. I'm a recent immigrant from the Midwest, and I have to admit, the West Coast is more confusing than I thought it would be. I think I've managed to get a handle on the bus system, but it would be nice to have a companion to help figure out the rest of this city.

I'm sorry! But, on the good side, think of how much exercise you're going to get on all those stairs!

Yes it does.

Sounds like a plan. I'm used to the West Coast, but not this specific area.

Oh dear.
