For celeste3028
Because she has asked me a few times about textures, I've put this together for celeste3028.
It's very hard for me to put together a tutorial because I use two different programs when I make my icons. I use paint shop pro x2 to clean them up. and photoshop for the rest. so I am going to try to make this as easy as I can.
We are going from this to this
I chose this screen cap
In paint shop pro I go to adjust: one step photo fix, Smart photo fix and then One step noise removal and I get this:
I save it with an "a" next to the orignal name. I always keep my original screen caps.
I then open it in Photoshop and crop it. I have my width and hight set to 1.389 and a 72 resolution which crops my images to a 100x100 size.
After I crop the image I usually sharpen it.
Then I go to to Layers: New Adjustment Layers: Levels and adjust the levels to 0 154 255. Color balance adjust to Midtones +31 0 0 Shadows -15 0 +28 Highlights +10 0 -6 Brightness and Contrast Bright +23 Contrast 0 Curves Input 121 Output 147 I like to play with these and see what I can come up with. Have fun and explore.
Go back to your cropped image and use the Lasso tool to on your toolbar and circle what you want to put on to the texture. right click and feather it I used 3. With your move tool drag the lassoed image to your texture. arrange it the way you want it. Use the blur tool to clean up the edges a little. Add text if you like. If you are happy with what you have, flatten and save it to your computer.
celeste3028 I hope you could understand this. It is the first tutorial I have ever tried to do.
