 opened in 1934 by faustino bessini and his two brothers, lorenzo and santino, fritz's has been a staple in the community of astoria for almost a hundred years. everyone knows that the restaurant was originally a front for gambling, guns, and prostitution, but since the organized crime syndicate known as the mafia has been seemingly and significantly dissolved by the united states government, so has the reputation of fritz's. their menu has evolved over the years, but kept a strict and genuine authenticity that keeps people coming back. regulars are treated well, no doubt, but everyone is family at fritz's.
