“Why not? You deserve this look,” Peter told him. Any look he tossed Roman’s way was well deserved. “Oh, so now you want Nadia to hurt innocent people. That’s fucked up, man.”
He rolled his eyes. If he knew Roman would act this way, he would have never mentioned meeting Sam when he had gone out on his own. “I’m not missing anything. Am I always going to get treated like this every time I meet somebody?” He needed to know for future reference. Because this was not something he wanted to do every single time he met somebody. “Exactly, so stop worrying about who I meet out there in the city.” He didn’t want to drag anybody into anything of theirs. He didn’t care that they weren’t in Hemlock Grove anymore. They were still who they were and shit always followed them. “Don’t say that.” He still didn’t want to think that they were dead. “We can live our lives here, but I refuse to think that they’re all dead and gone.” Roman showed up, so why couldn’t they?
“Yeah, you are,” he said as he took the joint from Roman’s hand. “Is that what started all of this bullshit? Because you came home to an empty apartment?” he shook his head. Well, at least Roman was actually telling him what the problem was instead of hiding it behind other things. “We’re not going anywhere. You don’t need to worry.” He took a hit off of the joint and then handed it back. “You’re stuck with us and we’re stuck with you.”
