Meghan made her way to the desk, a huge pile of EEG scans in her arms ready to be put into files and prescriptions to be phoned into pharmacies. She set them down next to Alison.
"Bunny called off today. I'm telling you his wife is doing something to him. He never misses a day."
"Oh, young people today always assume the worst." Abby, the front desk receptionist came by with a tray of brownies. "Keep these out of Kretchet's sight, will you. I was in a baking mood last night. All the nurses and clerical staff are benefiting." Abby pushed her glasses up further on her nose. "Have you considered that a man with Dr. Albright's constitution might be avoiding our new Hitler? Poor thing."
Meghan nodded and took the brownies with a happy grin. "Thanks Abbie. You do have a point," she conceded. "I'm half tempted to go into hiding myself."
