Dean glared over at his brother, wondering what the hell was eating him now. He’d been in a mood all day and now that same mood was just beginning to rub off on Dean. Today had started out well. Hellish weather that Dean hadn’t fancied driving around in had made the decision to stay in their motel room and get some much-needed research time in an easy one. Except, by his own grudging admission, Dean hadn’t been doing much research. Dean hadn’t actually been doing any research. He’d opened the laptop he’d whined for weeks that he must have, glanced over two pages about vampires then somehow found himself surfing a very interesting porn site. He’d bookmarked it for future reference then closed the page. If Sam caught him there would be no end to his bitching. Damned kid needed to get laid more! Or at all…
He’d pushed the laptop aside and picked up a book instead then sprawled himself on his bed with the fried chicken he’d called out for. However much he knew the research had to be done, the book turned out be as dull as the websites had been and a few moments later, he’d flicked the TV set on.
One of the cable channels was having a horror day and Dean settled down happily, enjoying the blood and gore and total silliness of some of the films. If those film-makers only knew…
He was so engrossed that he hadn’t even noticed the signs of Sam’s annoyance and sighed heavily. “Jeez Sammy, will you lighten up…and do not tell me that there’s an apocalypse out there. If you do, so help me, I will end you.” Grudgingly, he pushed his bucket of chicken in Sam’s general direction. “Look, why don’t you take a break? Have some chicken and watch a couple of movies with me?”
