RULES 1. Respect your fellow players, and your mods. This should not have to be explained. Do not harass or bully other players, and don't start OOC problems for the sake of being a drama queen. If you have problems with another player that cannot be resolved peacefully, bring it to a mod to be sorted out.
2. NO GODPLAYING OR METAGAMING! You can play only your own characters or open to all NPCs. The only time you can drag along another player's character is with express permission if that player will be away for a length of time. (In such a case the soon to be absent player must post on the OOC or via private message to the mods that so-and-so has permission to keep their character active.)
Players need to be sure they have a firm idea of their character's personality (especially the Cannon characters)and the game's premise before applying. Likewise, players should make sure they're staying in character.
Mary Sues/Gary Stus are also not allowed.
If any of the above is seen happening with a character, the player will receive two warnings before being removed from the game on the third offense.
3. Players are currently only allowed 2 characters max (although this number is subject to change). Additionally, players cannot play two characters that would interact exclusively(No, you can NOT play both Sam and Dean). Players seeking additional characters must allow a one month between applying for a new characters, although an exception may be made for extremely active players.
4. This game is very likely to involve adult situations. Whether it be violence, drinking, or sex (might even be drugs or demon blood), it's all allowed here. However, anything above an R-rating must be clearly labeled. For this same reason, we will not be allowing players under the age of 18. Additionally, a lot of our players access the game at this work. For this reason, we request that any adult content be behind a cut, with simply a NSFW warning with the who, where, and when. You should also specify drug use, violence, or sex but with their first initial (S, V, D) as the full words can be picked up by page filters. ;) The reason for letting people know which topic puts the post over R rating is because some players might be grossed by really explicit violence, not interested in detailed sex, or really bothered by other topics. Please respect that. Cussing, however, does not need warnings. You're going into a game with rough type personas and people facing death, so "Oh darn!" won't always cut it. We do ask you NOT use 'fuck' every other word. When used sparingly it packs more punch, really.
5. You must be active. Each character will be expected to show activity twice a week. If you are inactive, you will be given one warning. After your warning, you have three days to resume activity. If you fail, you will be removed. If you are going to be unable to be active for some period of time, please inform a mod. :) If you end up on the inactive list three times in a row, the character will be deleted. There are always exceptions such as severe illnesses, vacations and such.
6. Please use proper spelling and grammar. Both spelling and grammar are important, so looking over your post before hitting submit never hurts. If you use Firefox, there should be an inline spellchecker already installed on your browser. With this, your browser will point out misspelled words as you type, à la Microsoft Word. This should successfully prevent a majority of spelling issues. Any applications with very obvious grammar and spelling mistakes will not be read or accepted. Netspeek does not belong in any scene, ever. If u need 2 uz this lang. cuz ur lazy, stick to texting a friend, not playing an RP
7. Scenes/logs/threads are to be done in the third person, past tense.
8. Scenes can be done through thread or AIM/Gdoc logs, depending on the player's preference. Please note that all AIM logs go in the community, not your character's journal and must be cleaned up, not just a copy of the AIM log..
9. OOC comments and posts do not belong on the in character board. Now, everyone's had that tag scene where you have to tell the other player something - be it a new line notice, or a correction request - but please, do not post OOC comments along with your tags. Any OOC notes, corrections, or questions belong in the OOC board, private messages/e-mails, or in conversation on AIM. If you must post OOC questions/notes in scene posts, please do it in a separate comment from scene content that can be deleted by the mods later.
10. Do not join to post nothing but smut. If that's what you're after, this is not the game for you. NC17 scenes are fine, but there should always be content and something actually happening. This isn't a game just to focus on Winchester or anyone else lusting. (OOC discussion and lusting is fine, after all the Mods fully acknowledge the hotness quotient of the show) The GAME is story and interaction driven. You want pure smut, write a sex centered fanfic. While romantic relationships ARE allowed, bear in mind that character relationships need to be born of an agreement between both players, as well as believable.
11. Do not only post with one other character. The mods understand that some hunter teams will be off on their own hunts for stretches. However, they should check in with Bobby, or show up on the in-character chat journal to interact. Eventually we want everyone to interact with everyone else, including joint hunts, working together to stop the end of the world, etc.
12. Do not post only one-line posts. You should write posts worth opening a cut for. Can't think of anything but a one line bit of dialogue, give a description of gestures, facial expressions and what the character is thinking.
13. Once accepted, please list your character's bio (that is, your application, minus contact info and RP samples) in their userinfo. It's only polite so other personae can interact with yours and can mention eye color, if they are looking up or down per height or if that log across the river will hold for the 180 lb person the same as it will for the 115 lb one.
14. Thread headings should be formatted as follows: Characters: [Who's involved this scene. You can also tag other players here, or mark it OPEN for anyone to respond.]
Setting: [Where and when (morning, evening, between what events of the day) the scene is occurring. (If it takes place in any vehicle please include 'en. route to:'.)]
Content: [ONLY needed if a content warning needs posting. Adult Content is, of course, graphic sex or violence. State which (graphic sex or violence) applies to a post labeled with Adult Content.]
Summary: [A short summary of the scene. Maybe what it's trying to achieve, what spawned it into being, and etc.]
The rules posted as they are now were mostly taken from a game called Oblivion
