There isn't much of a difference. This, Mr. Evans, is a war. An exceptionally quiet one, yet there are two sides battling. As you say, you have taken a side, your reasons while indeed noble and selfless are irrelevant in the eyes of your foes. When they can't target you, what would the "forces of evil" set their eyes on? The very people you wanted to protect. That is my opinion as a third party. Unless, of course, they grant special protection to those who love for your efforts and my observation is completely mistaken.
