I'm not telling you do do a damn thing except accept that if you post publicly, people are probably going to respond and they're not all going to just scroll past if something you say gets their attention.
I'm defensive because I know this post isn't as simple as fries to more than one person and I don't want to see those people hurt again because they're wondering what's wrong that made you not like your favorite food. That's what I'm gaining from it, as well as maybe letting others who wondered or worried about your intention, like I did, know they weren't alone in thinking it. And I don't want to care why you can't eat your damn fries because being concerned about you just gets us all fucked over!
But fine. Let's do this assuming you don't know.
You love fries. Pretty much anyone with any knowledge of you would associate that with you because you spent a lot of time on the boards mentioning fries among your conversations. Anyone who was more than just internet-familiar with you would know how much you love them. All of that as a given, you post about how you've gone off the taste of your favorite food, rather than just post "I want food recs because curly fries are weird".
Sometimes people post to these boards because they just want to chat and sometimes they have other motives, whether they recognize them or not. I mean, I posted about a possible prank war prank in my office the other day, it wasn't just to discuss office supplies in balloons, it was to have the most people see it the fastest to figure out who had possibly started a prank war. Sometimes people post on here wanting other people to agree with them, or feel sympathy for them, or whatever else, so stupid or not, it's still a possibility.
So for anyone who went through the cycle of trusting and not trusting you, this looks suspicious because it looks like you're posting about being off fries in hopes that it'll get a response and people will ask why and if they're asking why, then maybe they can have some kind of association with you. And maybe it's not "lie to everyone and destroy the world" again, but it can still look like an attempt to pull people in, without also being the end of days doomworthy.
