[Sam]
We aren't out killing things every day and night for shits and giggles, we're saving people's lives. But they don't understand, and won't ever understand until one of these werewolves takes a piece out of one of them and they have to face the consequences. 'We told you so' is a damned hollow, joyless thing to say after another life is ruined, because it's a lesson that cost a person their life. And their naivety is going to get someone killed, you mark my words.
I'm not saying werewolves aren't people too, or whatever P.C. bullshit is the hip thing this month. They are, it's the whole damned point. A person shouldn't have to suffer what being a werewolf makes them.
The fact is, most of those people can't control what they are when that full moon comes around. All these advocates, they name two names out of how many werewolves in this world? The ones that can control it - fine, I won't be hunting them down until they're a threat. They pull out some magic potion or brain surgery that removes that urge to kill, fine. Some new breed of werewolf shows up that's a lapdog instead of a murderer, I'll leave them alone and keep my distance.
But the werewolves that can't control it, they don't deserve to have to live with the price of losing control at the wrong moment. And not one of these people has stopped to ask themselves if the people they're so damned determined to save really want saved at all. The average person can't handle being that changed.
The morality police can talk on and on about all their otherworldly protections, but someone still has to be inside that secured room to take down the escaping werewolf, and even if that werewolf never escapes the room, I doubt it'll just stop before attacking anyone in the room. Just like these so called non-violence spells at that club, they don't really know if it stops all violence that these powers can toss here. They just think so.
Until they can prove whatever they're promoting is foolproof, they're risking lives - their own lives and the lives of everyone in that building, if nothing else. Ben sure as hell won't be going to school on days that werewolves are locked in the damn building with him.
