Re: Filtered from Tenel Ka
As amusing as it might be to see you try, I believe the magics Mortanius placed on me may have made me immune to that particular type of spell (and I have seen it before). However, I have a question for you. You make this sound like it's very easy. Then why not transfigure the vampires here? Or that...maniacal being running around talking about "cleasing the world" and starting over? Not the woman, I'm talking about the man who claims to have been alive for 400 years. Am I really deserving of all this attention? I'll admit, if you could forge a second Soul Reaver, I would be truly impressed.
...There is one spell I would be grateful to you if you tried. Send me home. Let me deal with my problems and go back to continuing the fight against our adversary. But I guess even you can't perform such an act, can you?
You say there are vampire masters beyond anything I have ever seen. Then send them my way. Believe me, I would love to carve these bastards into chunks of flesh for this disgrace of a vampire race that they've created. Running around preying on weak and innocent humans, hiding in the shadows like dogs, responding to no higher authority other than their own urges...this is not how vampires were meant to live. At least not on my world. Then again, I suppose that's the problem. This is not my world, and the vampires here are an abomination. I am alone, without any of my soldiers, in a world that distrusts my kind and yet doesn't give me a chance to prove I am different from them.
Or is it that you want me to hunt them down, on my own, and present their heads as trophies to you so that you can finally accept that my intentions are real?
I believe 1,600 years entitles me to imagine a lot. And as for Hell? I have been there too, twice. Assuming the "Demon Dimension" as the Ancients called it, where all demons originate from, is the same infernal dimension as your Hell, then it is indeed a place I am familiar with. And if it is not, I still have one very valid experience. I was not a noble man in my youth, and when I died, I went straight to the fiery pits before becoming a vampire. Fortunately my soul was not absorbed by the false god, because of my destiny. I believe I may have been the only person there from Nosgoth in centuries, considering the fraudulent god now controls the fates of our populations.
So she will deal with threats herself? Then I suppose you better pray for that human's sake. I believe he is the human called Batman.
And what about psychically? What do you plan to do to counter the possession or mind control that has taken hold on her?
I have seen the lightsaber. It is an impressive weapon. But the Jedi powers are the same we Vampires control in Nosgoth. They are the same many of the human sorcerers used against us. I am not as easily impressed either, simply because I've seen many of them before. To you they may be foreign, but to us they have been around for thousands of years.
I do not aim to be scary. I aim to be deadly. The eloquence and contemplation (or 'long-windedness', as you might call it) with which I speak is a result of a lifetime of aristocratic upbringing in my youth before I became a vampire. It is not an easy habit to undo. But that does not preclude my having combative abilities. It simply means I prefer to handle worthy enemies with words first, and if I do not convince them to come around to my point of view, then I destroy them.
I never thought I would say this, but if it will convince you...who do you wish me to kill?
