I get how those feelings can be scary, especially when you've never had them until now. Trust me, I've been there. It's scary but it's also exciting... at least, it usually is.
I'm sure he's not out to hurt you -- and you said it yourself, you know it's not true. But, doubts and fears do come out now, you've just got to know how you feel and go with that.
