In spite of himself, Ray chuckled a little, both flattered and amused by Patty's praise. It was nice to hear some honest feedback that happened to also be positive.
For a while, Ray thought that his life didn't mean anything. He'd "died" and the world had gone on. No one cared. He'd joined Rip Hunter's elite team because he was told that he was remembered as a legend...when Rip actually told the truth, he found out that he'd been chosen because his life was nothing but an insignificant blip in the timeline and it wouldn't matter if he was dead or alive; he wouldn't change the course of things just by dying in duty and it wouldn't change much if he lived traveling forever. Ray was nothing and that was sobering. But hearing someone sound so enthusiastic in reference to him again was a nice change and Ray couldn't help smiling. "Well, thank you!" he replied.
He lifted his eyebrows incredulously for a second before he remembered that she said she'd been from Central City. "Oh, right, the metahumans," he said with a nod. Ray looked over at her and watched her brush her hair behind her ear and found himself thinking she was really rather lovely and if they all looked like this, then this was all going to be a piece of cake.
"Yeah, I just got here, I just woke up a few minutes before you found me, actually, so no. I haven't been anywhere but here, as it turns out. Think you'd mind showing me back?" he wondered hopefully.
