Seeing that Cisco was there was, admittedly, a bit of a kink in Patty's excitement through no fault of his own. Patty had signed up for this to get past what had happened with Barry. She was lost after he had convinced her not to kill the man who had killed her father, even though she hadn't known that it was him at the time, and after that point Barry was really all Patty had to concentrate on. Now there was nothing, and although becoming a CSI was a dream job it was just that - a job. Patty needed a new purpose to define herself by, so when she saw the opportunity to do something so spontaneous and so unlike her, it was hard to turn down. No, it wasn't a new found purpose, but it was something different, and crazy and scary. Seeing Cisco brought her right back to that train the last time that she saw Barry, and gave him one last chance to be honest with her. He hadn't taken it, and now that crushing sense of betrayal felt fresh again.
But she was Patty Spivot, and she certainly wasn't going to let her past haunt her after finally learning to let it go. She decided to distract herself with her own surroundings, exploring the island and taking in all of the amazing scenery. It was like walking around in a dream, and Patty found herself scaling the edges of the jungle just so she could have a view of the gorgeous plant life and the ocean all in one go. She saw someone up ahead, and she didn't hesitate to approach them with a friendly smile prepared on her face. They were here to build a community, after all, and you can't do that if you don't know the people that you're building it with!
"Isn't it gorgeous?" She asked aloud from a distance to catch his attention, brushing her blonde hair behind her ear when the wind blew it a little into her face. She froze a few feet away when she finally saw who he was, though, and her eyes got wide as she tried to process it. "...You're Ray Palmer...!"
