McCoy was adjusting to life on the isalnd and he had to admit he kind of liked it. It was nice to be on solid ground, out of the void of space and it was nicer still being surrounded by beautiful women who seemed to want nothing more from him than a good time. Jim was happier here, too, he thought. Maybe this place would be good for both of them
Not getting a chance to really talk with Christine didn't sit so well with him, but he understood that, too. She'd built a life for herself here. He couldn't begrudge her that or needing time to devote to those who had become important to her, but he was happy to find her alone in the med center at the moment. She wasn't the only one who wanted to do some catching up.
"Gladly," he told her, grinning as he helped himself to a seat near her. He studied her with a doctor's eye for a moment, noting how tired she looked. Knowing Christine as she did, he suspected she'd been overdoing it.
"How are you feeling?" he asked her, not just as a doctor but also as her friend. Aside from Jim, she was one of his favorite people. He wanted to make sure she was alright.
