Her natural instinct was to prepare to defend herself when she saw Rose's hands go up but then the other girl dropped them and Mara let herself relax. She didn't sense any danger from her and that was a relief. So far there had been nothing like that here which made all this a little bit easier.
"It's a strange feeling when you first wake up and find yourself here. At least you didn't show up a couple of weeks ago when we had a blizzard," Mara shook her head. "I was expecting Paradise and I got snow. I was convinced that I'd been dropped off on the wrong planet but then it all melted and now I see that it really is paradise. Or that's what everyone says. I'm not sure my idea of paradise is the same as everyone else's."
