Steve sort of understood, but it helped that she told him her story. He could find a way to make things work for him and for both Natasha and Peggy, and anyone else he got involved with. He was intrigued by the idea of potentially being a father to Pepper's child and knew instinctively that he'd be willing to do that for her even now, but that was something they could discuss if and when the time came.
"I'd like to have a child," he replied honestly. Steve stood and gave her a big hug, though still gentle given everything. He'd always be careful wit her. "Thank you for telling me all of that. I think- I think I understand a little better now about what might work for me while I'm here," he admitted softly. It'd take time for him to really wrap his head around it, and for him to figure out what he wanted, but that was okay. Hopefully, Natasha and Peggy would be patient with him.
