It took a moment for Bruce to realize that he'd already asked her that and he shook his head a little. Apparently impending fatherhood turned him into the absent minded professor. "Nothing's wrong," he said. "We're getting close to your due date, that's all."

From helping Malia, he knew that it was very unlikely Maria would deliver more than a day or so before or after her due date, but that didn't keep his doctor instincts from kicking in.

"Did you do anything interesting today?"
