He was confident that Arva would keep her promise and prevent his daughter from inheriting anything related to the gamma radiation, but a small part of him was hopeful that she might share his interest in science. Not that it really mattered, since he wouldn't know her for a very long time, but it was one of those fanciful thoughts that crossed his mind from time to time.
