If anyone deserved a chance at normal, it was Natasha. Steve was glad to see her laughing, and to hear that she had the freedom she needed to take refuge in the jungle when she needed it. She could thrive here, and Steve honestly couldn't be happier. "I'm glad she found you," he replied honestly. He hadn't known that she couldn't have children, but he understood why she would say yes, especially if it meant having a break from the insanity that was their lives these days.
"He's in Wakanda, under T'Challa's protection," Steve replied. "Cryostasis, but it was his choice and I wasn't going to take that from him after everything else." It still hurt his heart to know that his best pal had been tortured and forced to kill for decades while he'd been trapped in the ice. "I don't know what happened to you, but you weren't in the Raft with the others. Buck and I, we broke them out and I went underground." He'd wanted to find her, but if anything, it would have put her in danger. "I figured you'd find me if you could, or if you wanted to."
He couldn't help looking her over, in part to make sure she was okay. "You're really alright? Happy?" Steve could admit that he was maybe a little protective of her, but that was only because he cared. He wondered if she'd had a child yet, or if she was with child yet, but he honestly wasn't even sure how to ask.
